Frying pan tennis in Sindorf with 14 teams

Our tennis grounds hosted the first frying pan tournament in sunny weather. A total of 14 teams entered. Play began in four groups, with the best two teams from each group qualifying for the next round.

How frying pan tennis worked

Each match lasted ten minutes and was played within the small service box. Players served underarm and used a frying pan as their racket. The team with the most points won.

The unfamiliar equipment produced plenty of exciting, closely fought rallies. It soon became clear that handling a frying pan takes practice too.
